VIA Nano X2 E-Series New Low Power Processors

Chip maker VIA has released a new version of X2 processor called Nano X2 VIA E-Series. This processor has a core chip 64-bit dual-core processors designed for embedded systems. In other words, you probably will not find E-Series netbook or tablet in the near future, but can be used in televisions, set-top boxes, POS (cash register), or commercial or other business environment.


VIA Nano X2 E-Series will come in 1.2 GHz and 1.6 GHz models. Both chips are built using 40nm design and support of Windows Embedded Standard 7, Windows CE, and Linux. pin chip-to-pin compatible with VIA Eden chip, Eden X2,, C7 and Nano VIA E-Series enables system builders to switch to this new chip without the hassle.

VIA will provide examples of new processors to customers now, and hope the system that uses Nano X2 E-Series to enter the market in the second quarter of 2011.
