Vector Linux 6 Released

VectorLinux, Slackware derivative Linux distribution has released a version 6 at the end of the week yesterday. The thing to note is that on this release they have made their own installer GUID and the results are pretty good.

Vector Linux is released in two versions of the free Standard and Deluxe worth 22.99 USD for a downloadable version and 27.99 for the series CD set. This distro uses Xfce 4.4.3 as default desktop by default.

Linux is still using the LILO bootloader. Standard versions have included a variety of programs are needed such as Firefox, Opera, Sun Java 6, Adobe Flash and many more.

The Linux version has a package manager named Gslapt which allows us to add new applications.

Standard and Deluxe versions of the difference is the additional software that is included, for the Deluxe version also includes KDE 4.2 and Open Office accompanied dengna installation and configuration support for 14 days.

If you are looking for a Linux distribution with a common and useful packages already installed, Vector Linux is the right choice.
